Safety
At Gateway Construction Company, safety is more than a policy — it’s a core value. We are committed to protecting every employee. Our goal is simple: everyone goes home safe, every day.
Our Commitment to Safety
Gateway prioritizes accident prevention through proactive planning, thorough training, and a strong safety culture. We understand the impact workplace injuries can have on our employees, their families, and the project as a whole. Because of this, safety is integrated into every stage of our work — from pre‑task planning through execution.
Training & Qualifications
We ensure our workforce is equipped with the knowledge and skills to perform every task safely and correctly. Our safety training includes:
OSHA 10‑hour and 30‑hour certifications

Ongoing job‑specific and task‑specific training
Fall protection, rigging, and signaling training
Emergency response and first‑aid training
Safety orientation for new hires
Planning & Communication
Strong communication is at the center of our safety approach. We encourage every worker to speak up, participate, and take ownership of jobsite safety.
Our standard safety practices include:
Daily Task Hazard Analyses (THAs/JHAs) completed before work begins
Weekly toolbox talks addressing relevant hazards
Site‑specific safety plans tailored to each project and general‑contractor requirements
Pre‑task meetings to review procedures, equipment needs, and potential hazards
Incident and near‑miss reporting to help us learn and continuously improve
We believe every employee plays a role in maintaining a safe work environment, and we encourage open communication between field employees and all levels of management.
Equipment, Tools & Inspections
Gateway maintains a rigorous inspection and maintenance process for all equipment, tools, rigging, and material‑handling devices. This includes:
Routine inspection of rigging gear, in addition to daily inspection before use
Immediate removal from service of any damaged or questionable equipment
Coordination with general contractors to meet project‑specific PPE, hazard‑control, and safety‑plan requirements
Safety is never left to chance.
Our Safety Culture
Safety at Gateway is built on:
Accountability – Every employee is responsible for their own safety and the safety of those around them.
Awareness – Recognizing hazards before they become incidents.
Engagement – Encouraging workers to participate and contribute to safety improvements.
Consistency – Following safe work practices every day, on every project.
Through training, communication, and genuine care for one another, we maintain a zero‑incident mindset across all Gateway jobsites.
Our Goal
To create safe jobsites, prevent injuries, and support a culture where safety is second nature — not just a requirement.
